Congress Clears 19th FAA Extension

On May 24, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a bill (H.R. 1893) that would extend Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) funding through June 30.The 19th short-term extension of the current FAA authorization law, VISION 100, is necessary because House and Senate negotiators have failed to reconcile differences between the two chambers’ reauthorization bills. The most recent extension expires on May 31.The Senate’s action follows the House’s approval of the legislation a day earlier. The President is expected to sign the newest extension into law in the coming days.In the meantime, please urge your lawmakers to ensure the final FAA reauthorization bill does not unnecessarily micromanage the aviation maintenance industry. For more information on FAA reauthorization legislation visit here.~~~ posted 05/25/11 ~~~
