ARSA today named aviation industry veteran Eric R. Byer as the Association’s vice president of communications, policy, and planning.
Eric joins ARSA after 14 years at the National Air Transportation Association (NATA) as its vice president of government & industry affairs. In his new role, Byer will bolster the Association’s internal and external communications activities. During his tenure at NATA, Byer led an experienced team focused on a wide array of legislative, regulatory, and security issues affecting America’s aviation businesses.
“We are extremely pleased Eric is joining our team,” ARSA Executive Director Sarah MacLeod said. “His management skills and aviation industry background will be invaluable assets to the Association.”
Prior to NATA, Eric was a senior government affairs coordinator at Smith, Bucklin and Associates, legislative/staff assistant to Rep. William F. Clinger, Jr. (R-Pa.), and worked for Rep. Dean Gallo (R-N.J.). He holds a B.A. in political science from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. and an M.A. in government from Johns Hopkins University.
