ARSA Blasts Biased Reporting

Some folks just can’t seem to get their facts straight. That seems to be the problem with Seattle’s KIRO television news station.

KIRO has conducted a series of reports disparaging the use of contract aviation maintenance, particularly overseas repair stations. Throughout the series, there is no mention of the industry’s positive economic benefits or stellar safety record. Rather, the hackneyed tactic of finding anonymous disgruntled employees and letting them complain on camera with unsubstantiated allegations is allowed to pass as journalism.

This type of biased reporting shows the need for ARSA’s Positive Publicity Campaign (PPC). The initiative has allowed ARSA to better monitor and respond to this kind of attack journalism. However, there is still much to be done in combating big labor’s false and xenophobic safety arguments.
