NLRB Issues New Posting Rules

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has issued a final rule requiring most private-sector employers to post a government-drafted notice of employee rights under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) by Nov. 14, 2011.
The action is the latest effort from the Obama administration’s pro-union Board to advance the wishes of organized labor. Failure to post will be considered an unfair labor practice.
The requirement mirrors one already in place for government contractors established by Executive Order in 2009. The language and dimensions required for the notice must meet precise NLRB standards and will be available on the NLRB website and from NLRB regional offices by Nov. 1, 2011.
